Training Front Desk for Festival Weeks

Songkran, Loy Krathong, and major city events change guest rhythm. Prepare your desk before the lobby fills.

Festival weeks in Thailand bring staggered arrivals, wet luggage, group check-ins, and guests who expect flexible store-and-return for bags. A standard weekday script will fray by mid-morning.

Two weeks ahead, run a short desk rehearsal: bag drop queue, early-arrival seating, and a named person for group leaders. Print a one-page map of temporary storage and restrooms.

Brief security and porters with the same cues so guests hear one story about what is open, what is delayed, and where to wait comfortably.

After the festival, capture three friction notes while memories are fresh. Those notes become the checklist for the next peak—more useful than a generic “be ready for crowds” reminder.
